Certificates are NOT IMPORTANT. Again, certificates do not matter. Certifications are like the cherry on the cake, but without the cake you have no value to the icing.

How you can get a job as a cybersecurity expert depends on many things:

1. Your experience

2. Your interest (red team vs. blue team: red team attacks and blue team defends, and both teams are equally important)

3. Market/employment opportunity.

You can be safe an inch deep and a mile wide, or you can be safe an inch wide and a mile deep. For example, different skill sets are required depending on what level (network, OS, application, data) you are securing.

One of the most common and basic skills an employer requires of an IT professional is the ability to write code. Most IT jobs involve programming, software development, and website development. It is also helpful to have the skills to write code in several languages, such as C++, Python, Java and Ruby. Understanding code is necessary to complete software development projects and quality assurance management. Many people ask the question what is cyber security? You can find out at https://diesec.com/2022/07/what-is-cyber-security/ to find out if this profession is right for you or not.
