Can anyone tell me why the Feed Rate display on the LCD lowers to a slower feed rate On my M201 when printing from an sd card ?

Hi,
What exactly do you mean?
The feed rate is adjustable on the LCD,you can turn the knob to change the value.

I know I can change the feed rate on the LCD with the knob , but I DO NOT CHANGE IT, It changes by itself ! One print I was running dropped from 100% down to 22% on a 4 hour print , without my touching it !

Never heard about this...
Maybe you can upload the latest firmware for M201 to have a try.

I haven't run a print via usb for a while, but have never notice it happening when I did. The funny thing is that it does not happen all the time , maybe 50 % of the time.

OK , I ran a 3 hr 50 minute print 3 times thru a usb connection to my computer and all 3 runs finished real close to the estimated time with no problems.
I then ran the very same print via the sd card and this print took 5 hrs and 50 minutes to complete, but the feed rate on the LCD did not change this time !!! ???
But the printer seemed to be running with what appeared to be pauses as it printed during the last half of the print, it seemed like it was waiting for something , like maybe the next command .

OK, here is the last series of test
1. I resliced the print and saved a copy for the sd card. Estimated print time 3 hours 50 minutes.
2. I then ran the print opreation with my computer. print time was 4 hours and 24 minutes
3. I then ran the print again from the sd card . Print time 6 hours and 50 minutes.
Also Note the following :
While printing from the sd card
1.When the print was 24% done the LCD feed rate was 91%
2.When the print was 47% done the LCD feed rate was 72%
3. When the print was 68% done the LCD feed rate was 54%
4. When the print was 94% done the LCD feed rate was 37%
5. When the print was 100% done the LCD feed rate was 31%
It appears to me that something is wrong with the control board
