first semi successful print lots of defects

Post by acmaker » Sat Apr 11, 2015 12:43 pm

Hi guys,

First post but been reading the advice here for the last week which has been a great help with the initial setup.

I purchased a prusa i3 b, I believe with 3mm nozzle.
Took me about a week to build in my free time. It took some playing with the setting but I managed to print this pink panther model last night.

0.2 layer height, 215 degrees nozzle and 115 bed, I had to put some pva on the bed for anything to stick regardless of temp. Bed leveling is pretty much spot on.

You can see the quality is really poor.

Any tips to improve on this? What should I be looking at adjusting?

What is the filament material ? ABS or PLA?
If it is ABS, the extruder temperature should be up to 240 degrees, and bed is 95 degrees.
If it it PLA, the temperature for extruder is 200 degrees, and 70 degrees for bed.
What is the diameter of filament? Maybe I can give you a good slicer setting.
Can you give me the stl file and g-code of your model too? I can give you a better answer through my experience.
