Red flasher

Hi guys, I've just joined your forum as I have completed my acrylic i3 printer build and am afraid I have a problem with it. I got some printable files online and ran them through Repetier, o.k. Saved files to sd card, o.k.Setup printer in config.Put card into printer, went to print from sd card. Said heating, but bed temp stayed at room temp and I had red flashing led on right hand extruder heater terminal. Extruder appears to heat up but temp varies on lcd screen and the stepper makes a clicking noise as it can't feed the filament through. I also noticed on the control board printout it shows red and black wires from heated bed but mine has only red wires so I assume they can connect either way round. I would really appreciate any help to sort these problems as the rest of the printer works o.k.
Thank you.
Ron

Could you post some pictures or a video about the issue?

Hi, I've altered a few settings like extruder and bed temp and took the fan and heatsink off to find the filament wasn't fitting all the way into the nozzle. The hole in the nozzle didn't line up exactly with the guides. It appears to be printing at the moment although it was a bit rough to start with so will let it finish this print. The red led is still flashing but the temp is stable. Can the speed of the filament feed be altered, if so, how?

Hi, after watching numerous vids on youtube I think I've just about got it sorted. Red led still flashing but doesn't seem to affect anything!

Notice that when you first switch the printer on and set the extruder to pre heat, the led will be on constantly. Once the extruder has reached the target temperature the led will flash as the supply to the extruder is pulsed to keep it at the right temperature.

You'll also notice the led in the hot bed switching on and off as it maintains the bed's preset temperature as well.

If you're using Repetier-Host you can select the "Temperature Curve" tab at the top of the main build window to see how both heaters are switching to match the preset.

Hope that's useful. :D
