Instructions rostock 301 & No replies from Staff
I Have purchased a rostock 301 and i have found a number of issues with all of the instructions on line, but I used my own head and read what they stated but done what appear to be most likely
the kit came with only 5 x M3 x 25mm hex screws where the kit actually needs 6 +2 = 8 screws,
I have contacted 3 lots of section within geeetech but no one has replied to my questions, which is the only two instruction I having difficulty following, .........
1) it states fit the heat sinks and stickers on the stepper motor driver (but where it doesnt say or I cant be sure where it could go),
2) On the 3 extruders there was three long leads that appears that they have to be removed to replace them with three very short leads that go onto the circuit board ( have i done the right thing?)
when does the online chat ever go online?

1)See the following pic,the heat sinks stick on the chip of A4988: 2)The three long leads are the fan wiring on corresponding extruder motor, which connects to the port on the blue circuit board, while the three short leads are the motor wiring, one connects to the motor socket and the other one connects to the socket on the blue circuit board, see the picture i attached:wayneteresa wrote:I Have purchased a rostock 301 and i have found a number of issues with all of the instructions on line, but I used my own head and read what they stated but done what appear to be most likely

Re: Instructions rostock 301 & No replies from Staff
thank you, I had found where to put the heat sinks from another forum, so that was completed
the 3 long leads I was talking about I noticed that you had them removed too, and replaced them with the 3 short leads in your photo that you posted
the other issue I am having is regarding those 3 extruders, you included a short piece of filament in the kit when you sent it to me, plus I also purchased two rolls of ABS filament from a local electronic store here locally, the issue I having is I tried the filament that you sent me plus the two rolls I brought to insert them through the extruders, I could get them to insert in 2 of the extruders but the 1st. extruder would not let me to get the filament through it and I tried all three different filaments to none avail .......... another local Australian 3d printing forum suggested that it might not be in alignment inside, they also suggest using the pin that came with the kit to use it to clear if anything stuck inside, the pin when in but still not the filament any suggestions????

You mean you can't insert the filament into the white PTFE tube?I'm not sure if i understand your words correctly.I could get them to insert in 2 of the extruders but the 1st. extruder would not let me to get the filament through it and I tried all three different filaments to none avail .......... another local Australian 3d printing forum suggested that it might not be in alignment inside
If so,you can remove the fan on that extruder then replug it,it will be much easier i guess.

Re: Instructions rostock 301 & No replies from Staff
what I was trying to explain is that there are 3 extruders which come with the printer, which you are suppose to feed the filament into then the filaments enters the white tubing all the way to the bottom to reach the 3 in 1 hotend.
my issue is with the 3 extruders, I am only able to feed filament through 2 of the extruders and with the other 1 I am only able to get 25mm of the filament through the entry hole to inside that extruder, the filament will not go all the way through like the other 2 extruders then into the tubing to the hotend
I tried all 3 lots of filament none of them work

I removed the fan and it still was getting stuck and I couldn't see exactly where, so I removed the extruder from the printer and tried again, until I remove the bottom nozzle from the extruder where the tubing connected to before I was able to feed the filament all the way through the extruder, I checked to see if the nozzle and piping was in line which it was, but soon as I replace the nozzle it stopped been able to feed all the way through, only way I could feed the filament through which is a real pain and so much hassle, is remove the extruder so I am able to get to the bottom nozzle so I can remove that, then feed the filament through the extruder then feed the nozzle onto the filament then screw the nozzle back on the extruder, connect the tubing and then feed the filament all the way through then screw the extruder back on the top

Sometimes you need to straighten the filament and sharpen it,then plug it into the extruder.
