MK3 heatbed upgrade : nozzle tip hitting screw

Post by mediaklan » Sat Nov 21, 2015 12:46 am

Hi everyone ! I'm using a heatbed MK3 with my prusa i3 Pro B Pro for quite some time now, and I'm quite happy with it. But now I'm facing a slightly annoying issue since I don't want to use a piece of glass anymore : the screws used to attach and level the heatbed stand out a little above the heatbed (about 3mm) so everytime i start a print, the nozzle tip come hitting the closest screw.
I'm pretty sure I've seen someone here with the same problem, but can't find the post again.
So is there a way to avoid hitting this screw when starting a print other than to use the glass to elevate everything ? Maybe a gcode solution ?
Thank you in advance and have a nice day !

how about change the original of the bed? I mean to set it a little back or forward, so the tip will not collision with the screw.

hmm... that seemed to be not a bad idea actually, thank you. I will give it a try.
Another option ?
