hi

i have the i3 pro C dual extruder 3D printer.

i built it exactly by the book.

now when i use the reptier appliaction for manual control or use the "home alignemtn" in the printer lcd panel , the z-axis wont work most of the times and i hear the motors trying to move the rods but nothing happens. just noise

could it be the rods are too tight or not well assembled for the motor to move?
Or try to measure the voltage of the motor driver, it's usually 0.8-1.2V , and 1.0V is just fine.

hey

thank you for your swift response.

1. i will check today the voltage coming from the borad to the engines and supply with more data.
2. the rods are lubricated , free and can be moved very easly (turned) by hand

when i use the repitier the y and x axis are great but the z-axis most of the times doesnt respond (not even a moise from the motors), but when they do repond the the commands from the "manual control" the usually sounds with stuck noise and motors wont move.

i also tried by hand helping them turn but it wont help the noise will persist and no movment.... but ... once in a while it works but only down and not up - no matter where i presss up or down in the repetier software.

please help

How about swap the driver with the other axes and see the driver good or not?
And you can also plug the Z axis motor to the Y slot and see if it works well or not.

ok

so i solved all of the problems.

1. the manual on the web site was incorrect - you should use this one - http://www.geeetech.com/Documents/I3%20 ... uction.pdf
2. it seems you are using parallel and not series for the z-axis (two connectors and not one as shown in the previous manual)
3. now the heating is working good

now all that is left is to sit down and learn how to use the repeierHost application - it seems to be quite of the rocket science :-)

thanks for your help - you can close this ticket
