Y platform skips

Post by dogma » Thu Nov 12, 2015 6:21 am

i cannot keep my y platform from slipping I have tried righting the belt and loosening the belt but 2-3 minutes in a print it starts shifting and you can hear it like the belt is slipping off the pulley. Any suggestions?

Your Y motor driver must have a low voltage, you can refer to the link here to check the voltage:

ok i fixed y drive...bearing holder clamp needed to be widened so the bearing could move more freely. Now my y and x go the wrong way for home. Y I turned the motor around to correct that problem but you cannot switch motor for x and I printed some letters and they were backwards. I read I need to change firmware and upload. Do you have a link showing where to download and step by step how to do this? I believe that is all i need to set my printer up. I love I got to put this thing together myself and is very fun.

If you want to download the firmware, find the one for your printer here:
http://www.geeetech.com/forum/viewtopic ... 10&t=17046

and you can refer to the link here to install the firmware:

Also if you run into those common problems like wrong direction of motors, hotbed not heating up or something else, you can check it here first:
