Firmware for i3B, usabel in Arduino 1.6?

I need to upgrade the firmware on my Geeetech i3B, which has a Sanguinololou control board and only came with Marlin firmware version 1.0 (a very old version). I found firmware files for Marlin 1.1 on the geeetech wiki, but they are all .C and .H files and I cannot load them in the Arduino 1.6 IDE, which seems to only want to open .INO files. So I need some help. Preferably step-by-steep, clear instructions for non-programmers (end user) to follow that does not require installing a non-current version of the Arduino IDE software. Can anyone assist with this please?

Are you sure your board is Sanguinololou not GT2560?

@William, yes I am certain that this is the board which came with my printer when I bought it last year: http://www.geeetech.com/wiki/index.php/Sanguinololu
It looks quite a bit different from the GT2560 that you mention, so yes I am certain I did not confuse the two.

Strangely enough, the Marlin firmware .ZIP archive on the Sanguinololou page (http://www.geeetech.com/wiki/index.php/Sanguinololu) does have a .INO file in it now, but the one I download last week did not.

I find the firmware for Sanguinolo on ProB:

For the old firmware,we usually use Arduino 1.0.1 to upload it:
