Post by Toy » Thu Aug 25, 2016 6:15 pm

Firstly,download the firmware from here:
http://www.geeetech.com/forum/viewtopic ... 20&t=17046
We take Rocstock 301 as a example.
Before uploading the firmware, you need to install:
Hyper Terminal :

1.Connect the USB cable to your computer.
Open HyperTerminnal, then input any character or number you like:

3.Select the Baud Rate "115200" and Flow control "None":

4.Click and hold "C" button on the keyboard, then click the following button until some chinese writings display:

5.Push "1" on the keyboard and the following button in HyperTerminnal to load the firmware:

6.Load the firmware and select "Ymodem" as protocol, then send the firmware:

Note:
1. When uploading the firmware, you can only use one port on PC, or it will hints that the port is occupied, and the burning can’t be finished.
2. If some error messages appear during uploading, close the software and try again.
Let me know please if you have any question about it.
In addition, here is a guide on how to level the bed:

Is there any explanation for why the 301 retracts more filament than it extrudes...i have measured it and its 3 times the amount extrusion advance verses the retraction...the filament is half way up the tube before it starts the extrusion push again....very frustrating....is this in the firmware?....i have tried every filament setting in slicer and to no avail....this happened before with the prusa i3 and m201 till you guys fixed the firmware....no extrusion while printing and massive retraction compared to the advance....

You think you could supply the jumper with the board....???

Hi,
What you exactly mean by saying "the 301 retracts more filament than it extrudes"?
The extruder restracts depends on its restraction length, doesn't it?

well what happens is ...I start the print by heating.. I make sure I run out 50mill of filament, then home everything then hit the print button....it starts the perimeter run..then when ever it changes direction or later, moves to the next layer...the retraction starts...its half way up the tube and when it starts printing again there is no filament to the head...its still half way up the tube...but creeping down as if all is good...only way to deal with this currently is to manually force the filament down the tube till you see stuff pulp out the nozzle and unpause it...every time it changes direction or layers...can you diagnose and fix?

It's so weird...
Did you try uploading the firmware again?
And what value is your restraction length in slicer setting (see the following picture)?

here is a video you can watch the retraction here...I used left hand metal drives for reasons...don't pay any attention to the name....things have changed..

settings are on zero in slicer when video was made....saved re sliced and that is what happened..

I think I have found a possible cause...
when you increase the filament extrusion multiplier...for a thicker print..for example.
the retraction rate goes up exponentially...so much so, it voids the head of all filament...

Can you fix this?

It does not seem to be an issue on the Pro C or M201....
