Unclogging extruder head

Post by TheDreamMaster » Fri Jun 05, 2015 2:21 pm

I followed the video that showed how to unclog the extruder, but it didnt work. It is still clogged. :(

I pushed a rod and a very thin strand of plastic came through. Then nothing. I have tried pushing more filament and it won't go through. I am working with ABS and used a temperature up to 240 degrees and nothing.

What can I do now? How do I unclog the extruder?

I have not even been able to print anything yet!

Yes that's the video.

I think I managed to unclog it. Had to disassemble the extruder from the stepper motor and it seems it had formed a solid barrier in the middle of the heater passage. I used a drill bit to manually break it and now the plastic is flowing nicely again.

I hope it doesn't happen again. :)
