Extruder motor doesn't move after few layers

Post by danoravsky » Thu Nov 27, 2014 1:14 pm

Hi,
I have geeetech rambo 1.2 g and when im printing the extruder motor stops moving at about 20 layer.
But i have cooled stepper drivers by heatsink and fan and to the touch they are cold so it shouldn't be overheat issue.
The motor is warm when printing but it was always and it wasn't a problem.
Im using same firmware as on previous rambo which printed just fine.
Thanks -Dan

Hi,danoravsky!

Sincerely sorry for the delay. When your extruder motor stopped, whether your X,y and z motor work ok or not?And does the hot end works fine? How about the hot end thermistor reading?

Best wishes to you!

Hi star,
1.When extruder motor stops other axis move just fine.
2.Hotend works fine. It seems like the motor gets weak. I can turn it by hand while printer is still going and feel like motor is still trying to move but is too weak. But the motor is apropriate because i used it many months with another board and it worked just fine.
3.I had problems with temp reading in previous post but it should be fine now.

Hi,danoravsky!

How much did you set the temperature of the hot end?And is it labored when you turn it by hand?If so,I hope you can raise the temperature properly(keep it under 260℃)

Best wishes to you!

Hi,
I have set temperature to 235°C for abs. And when I turn extruder by hand it extrudes without almost any force needed.
It feels like the extruder motor gets weak but it's the same motor as always and same firmware as on older rambo.
