Mightyboard Rev E wrong power connector

Hi, I have the original power supply for the Makerbot. It has a four pin connector. My Mightyboard has only two slots. On the underside there is what looks like a transistor or a diode.

If I replace the two pin female connector with a four pin female connector, will it break because of the diode? Or is it ok so I don't have to cut my beautiful male 4 pin connector.

Thank you. :geek:

It's ok. But please mind "+" must be connnected to "+" , and "-" to "-".
Don't care about transistor.

I just plugged my new Jameco power supply into the Mightyboard and immediately got smoking capacitors. I think I plugged everything in correctly, as the two +24V wires were going into the + side and the two - wires were going to the - side.

What is the output voltage of power supply? You plugged 4 wires to Mightyboard from Power supply?

The Mightyboard is receiving 24V from a new Makerbot Replicator 1 official power supply. I just checked it with the voltmeter again. the two positive legs are getting +24 over the two ground legs.

I just read the schematic for the Geeetech Mightyboard Rev E.

Are the correct inputs 12 V, not 24? I have TWO fried boards!!

I want a refund or I want to know what capacitors I can fix.

More than one was smoking. I tried plugging it in again after you said that to check, but I couldn't tell.
