electronic got fried

Post by ash2k14 » Mon Mar 16, 2015 4:10 pm

Hi, I bought and built the 3d printer from http://www.aliexpress.com/item/2015-New ... 47628.html

All wiring were done carefully as well but when I turned it on a smoke came out, found out the board fried the microcontrollers. My board is Sanguinololu 1.3a with a4988 stepsticks, the printer now can't run due to faulty boards I believe

Did you wire correctly? Maybe you reverse the "+" and "-" wires.

You mean it was from PSU right? it was correct, the -ve are black wires, +ve are red wires. In fact, the smoke came out about 1-3 minutes after I first turn the machine on. Furthermore my second try I noticed there were nothing on the display except the light that slowly goes dim then off, I smell some faint burnt smell then I quickly turn off again, third and fourth attempt were the same

I tried to connect the board itself only without anything attached by using usb, pronterface cannot connect and would stuck during the connecting... message. I tried to burn the marlin firmware but it failed on me by showing some kind of avrdude error through arduino ide. I believe i didnt do any mistake during the electronic wiring. Even if you stated that the polarity reversed, the electronic would have been fried in an instant the moment i turned the psu on

I already submit this issue to your technical support last friday, and another through live chat earlier.

Hi, I don't think I made any mistakes on wiring up the electronics. I followed the guide carefully as well. When I tried to burn marlin firmware, it gave me this error
avrdude: stk500_getsync(): not in sync: resp=0x00

However, I noticed at the back of the board, there were 2 pins bridged together for the z axis pins in this picture here Image

It is ok that the 2 pins bridged together. Look at the picture.
