Printing speed decrease after 4 hours
Hello together,
since a few days I'm able do use Geeetech Prusa i3 X printer more or less. The first problem was solved by the Geeetech team really nicely. Now I'm waiting for a new part.
A few days ago I run into another problem. I started the first print jobs with more than 4 hours. From the first minute up to 4 or 4,5 hour everything was fine. But suddenly the printing speed decrease dramatically and the retraction also stops.
1. idea: In the first moment I was thinking the slicer crashed and I re-sliced the part and started the job again. It happened again. 2. idea: Perhaps the EEPROM store keeps wrong values. I erased it to the default config values by sending M502 as Gcode. It happened again.
3. idea: The firmware and EEPROM crashed. I sent M502, recompiled Marlin and uploaded it to the Atmega and again M502. It happened again.
4. idea: A Bug in Cura is responsible. I compiled and installed the latest Slic3r from scratch. Took all printing parameters from Cura to Slic3r and started again. It ha... 5. idea: Perhaps the SD card broke. I installed Octoprint on my Raspberry Pi uploded the Gcode, which was generated from Cura, and start the job again. It... An additional video after more than 4 hours https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S9QrICsp5L8 was created.
Last idea: The board broke? I can not test it... But I have reconstructed the board and had a closer look. Please see the attachments. Perhaps a water damage or some other defect is responsible for my problem. During construction I saw the marked points, especially the soldering joint, but I was thinking it is normal.
Any idea to solve the problem? I ran out... I invested already a full roll of PLA... It is not to expensive but it costs also...

According to what you've said,the board is OK.It can print just worked abnormally.
I guess it's that the driver didn't get the sufficient cooling during the printing.
I think you can measure the voltage of extruder motor's driver A4988 when the speed you mentioned slowed down to see if the large fluctuation exists. You can try the following tips:
1.Change another driver for extruder motor.
2.Provide a better cooling for the drivers.

1: Already done. I used 0.8, 1.0 and the maximum of 1.2 volt.
2: Look at the picture below. I'm using the http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:1307720, which was printed by a friend.
3: My retraction settings are: 50 mm/s and 0.9 mm. The settings are fine until the 4 h border is reached.
More important it's not just the retraction also the speed. Compare both videos https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GMRXAGTEfUw and https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AVBUTyVo_Mc. Much better is the following video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S9QrICsp5L8. All prints are started with exactly the same settings!

Today I started another job. After 5 minutes the printer stopped immediately. A long beep sounded, never stopped, and no sign was on the LCD screen. The printer looks like dead. I have no idea to bring it back.
After some time I also tried to connect via Repetier-Host V1.6.2 and no connection can be established. The LCD screen is also dead.
Overheating is impossible based on my previous post. The only un-tested component is the board. It looks like broken.

1.Could the printer print an object more than 4 hours at the beginning?
2.Where did the sound you mentioned come from?The LCD?The board?
3.Did you check the DC output of your PSU?Was it normal?Check the mainboard as follows:

1. Yes before the 30. of August it was possible to print objects with less less then 4 hours. Since two days the mainboard does not respond anymore. Either RepetierHost nor the Arduino IDE can connect. I can't use my printer anymore

3. Yes I checked it before the supply was installed. The current used voltage is 12 volt.

1. PSU is fine (U = 12.008)
2. Power connector is fine (U = 12.008)
3. Both fuses are also fine (U_1 = 12.008 and U_2 = 12.003).
4. The 5 volt for the meanchip are perfect (U = 5.035 Volt).
Any ideas?

Looks like everything is OK?But you said your printer stopped working?I couldn't understand that...
What status were your LCD and mainboard(like if some led light up) in?
Could you attach some videos or pics about your issues so i can learn more about it?
