Y-Axis dead after a few hours printing.
Y-Axis dead after a few hours printing.
Hi everyone,
i have a new Prusa I3 Pro B printer that came with the GT2560 controller board. The board works well and i have no issues with it until the Y-Axis decided to stop working mid print.
I have tested the driver module by swapping it with the X-Axis module and there was no change.
Next i swapped the X and Y motors and the y motor works fine.
All voltages are well within spec.
The only thing left is the actual GT2560 board has gone bad for some reason.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

How about the cable, swap the y axis motor cable with x,see if the cable is defective.

Thank you for the reply. The motors were swapped at the board. All cables have been checked. The Y-Axis motor runs fine on the x-Axis controller.Toy wrote:How about the cable, swap the y axis motor cable with x,see if the cable is defective.
When i get time i will scope the board to find the main issue. I am guessing the mcu had dropped an output.
As a matter of elimination all 4 driver modules have been swapped out with new ones. No change.
Regards

After a bit of testing today we discovered the EN pin on the X Axis is not being pulled low to enable driver board. The other channels work. This confirms the fault on the board itself rather than a peripheral such as cable or module.
How do I go about getting a replacement board?

You can contact the sales to talk about it.

Your Y axis is dead, but you said that EN pin on the X Axis is not being pulled low to enable driver board, why? Can you take a picture of it?Darkman wrote:After a bit of testing today we discovered the EN pin on the X Axis is not being pulled low to enable driver board. The other channels work. I can take pictures of the board but it will not show much. The most useful information cam from the logic analyzer tests. The analyzer results showed the enable pin being held high and not being pulled low as i should be. To test this i connected a link from the en pin to ground on the driver board. With the link in place the y-axis works. As for the cause i have not done a full test on the board itself other to test the en signal being absent.
I have finally heard from Geeetech (via ebay) and they have said they will be sending out a replacement board.

I'm looking for that reason as well.
