overheating issues

So far, I think Sanguinololu is the best board I've ever used. You are just the unfortunate one by chance.
There is another board called GT2560, it is good too, you can print with 2 extruders with this board.

Hi mate,

I've replaced the mosfet today and all seems to be working EXPECT the hotbed. So the controller board must have more damage than what I had hoped.

Any advice on how to fix the hotbed?

Did you replace with a same type of MOSFET?
The heat bed issue can not be soloved, it's lower than 1.2 ohm, so it will cause higher current and burn the MOSFET again. Please contact the customer service to get a good new one.

yes it's the same mosfet, I have contacted customer support, actually last week but still have not had a reply from them. it's very disappointing.

And had exactly the same issue happened for me last night, blue terminal block connector melted (I've just replaced with higher amperage one) and measured resistance across the heated bed at 1.4; No COMM port showing (so it also blew two stepper drivers in the process (replaced) and the FDTI chip is working at least as I get a com port show in Windows now, however I am unable to communicate with ATMEGA chip (via arduino, serial).

No visable damage to board, MOSFETS look good (how to test?) although the L780SCV (5v) MOSFET near the E Driver gets insanely hot; ideas?

Had some serious overheating problem last night. Melted the blue terminal blocks, wires, and completely destroyed the fan attached just above the control board. I have never been able to get consistent prints and this indicates that there is something seriously wrong with this printer.

Maybe you should contact the seller and replace a new one.
