x-axis motor signal is much too fast

Hello,

I have a i3 X acrylic model. The x-axis motor is going way too fast. When I select Prepare>Move Axis>1 mm>X-Axis the bed (which is 210 mm wide) is travelled in 50 mm of adjustment, so the X-Axis is about a factor of 4x too fast. The Y-Axis works as expected. I then swapped the X and Y-Axis ports, and the Y-axis was then way too fast (and X-Axis then OK).

I checked the stepper motor settings, they are 80 for both the x and y-axes. The belts and pulleys are the same for the x and y axes, so I don't see where the error is coming from. Maybe poor factory adjustment of the little red servo controller boards?

What can I try next? Note that I haven't plugged the printer into my computer yet. This is just from testing it out with the LCD interface.

2.If all the jumpers are plugged into,and X motor still moves abnormally.You can modify the step/mm(80) paremeter to 20,which may work.

All jumpers are there. I wiggled them a little bit to check if the connections were solid, but that didn't change anything. I think it is the little red circuitboard that is not adjusted correctly for the X-axis.

I then adjusted the X-axis stepper rate (from 80 to 20) using the knob on the printer. That seems like an OK solution, but it takes a long time, and the setting is reset to the default value (80) when I turn the printer off and on again. How can this setting be saved permanently?

Sounds like you forgot to save it before you turned it off.Yes,you can save the setting in "Control->Store Memory" on the LCD controller panel after you modify the parameter.
