Faulty driver?

Hi guys,

I have recently finished assembling my Geeetech Aluminium Prusa i3 as below.

https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B01 ... UTF8&psc=1

All went well. I have Repetier Host installed and connecting. When Trying to home the X and Y axis move nicely and home on the stops but...

The Z axis motors just shake and make a vibrating noise.

After looking online and seeing that some people have trouble with the threaded rods binding I removed both couplings to see if the motors would turn when they are disconnected from the threaded rods.

They still make the same noise. I have tried the motors plugged into to other driver boards and they both work. I have tried the other motors on the Z axis driver board and none of them work.

I have adjusted the driver V to see if this makes a difference but no. I think I am right in saying that the driver board is faulty?

I have ordered these to see if one of them fixes things. https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B01 ... UTF8&psc=1

I'm new to these printers but am fairly mechanically savvy.

Thanks in advance!

Ben

Hi,Ben
Check it out by following the link shows:
http://www.geeetech.com/forum/viewtopic ... 17&t=17038
Plus,if you swap the driver board of Z axis with X axis's and the Z motor works while X motor doesn't,maybe the driver of Z axis was broken...
