Extrudes manually, Not during Print

Post by txmit1 » Mon Mar 28, 2016 10:37 pm

Hi All,

Sorted out several bugs still not to get a sucessful print job.

I have now ran into the issue where i can send the print from computer or SD card however it will not extrude filament where needed (both steppers 0 and 1 do not move. However when i extrude manually in Repetier it works as does it on the M201 itself

Printer: Geeetech Prusa I3 M201
Firmware 1.4

1. Manally extrudes however does not extrude while printing
I have so far checked Repetier and Slicer settings unless ive missed something
checked voltages of all trimpots all 1.0V
checked clogs and jams
...scratched my head

2. when i do extrude manually the stepper grinds on the filament (like its pushing to fast) is this normal?

Any help is much appreciated

Thanks in advance
Tim

Have you leveled the bed and nozzle before printing? If the nozzle is too close to the bed when printing the filament will not come out freely.

Hi Mark,
Print bed has been leveled and nozzle height has been set to 2 sheets of paper above the print bed (2x80gsm).
I have also tried extruding from the zero'd height manually and that works and tried moving z-axis away to try print dose not print.

When the print job starts the LHS fan extruder motor stops also. it neither motor will step (or attempt to step)

Thanks again for any help

that's weird, seems like a firmware problem, but my printer works well with the 1.0.4 firmware. Do you have a video about this?
