Inconsistent Movement
Inconsistent Movement
I need help.

The movements are not as they should be. I am applying the full 10 steps and they don't move the full distance until it is unrestricted by the weight of arms or as it appears. I am not sure what I need to adjust to make this work. I can't calibrate it until I get the full distance of movement without it fighting me.
Thanks

Re: Inconsistent Movement
How about your endstops? did they loose ?
Re: Inconsistent Movement
I am not sure what you mean by lose. The end stops are functioning just fine.

Re: Inconsistent Movement
I am not sure if my response went through.
I am not sure what you mean by lose, but the end stops are working perfectly. Its more of an issue as I described that the movements are not consistent. You can even see in the video when I was moving on my x axis it was not only moving on the x axis but on y axis and z axis. So I am not sure if it is an issue with Repetier or the Marlin firmware. My other question was why is the G2 and G2S using Ultimaker as its firmware selection. Shouldn't it be Ramps 1.4?

Re: Inconsistent Movement
I don't quite understand your question. Cause the hotend is supported by 3 rods ,any of them moves will also push the other two rods to move.
AS another question ,GT2560 is a compact board that is integrated with the mighty function of the Arduino Mega2560+Ultimaker and Arduino Mega2560+ramps 1.4 on respect of both software and hardware .

Re: Inconsistent Movement
I know what board Geeetech provides. That is not the issue. You need to watch the video to understand the issues I am having. The movements are not as they should be. I used the IDE firmware that was provided to me. Is there an updated version that you are using to load the Marlin software onto the Arduino. Maybe that is the reason why my movements are not as they should be.
Re: Inconsistent Movement
I use arduino 1.0.1,and I can send you an firmware ,if you want to reurn it .
Re: Inconsistent Movement
So the issue are not consistent and I am leaning towards that I have a bad GT2560. I have followed all of the steps to calibrate it. I have reviewed all of the code, and no one else seems to be having this issue. I need to get in touch with Geeetech and see if they can send a replacement board. I am tired of messing with this.
Re: Inconsistent Movement
Was this question ever resolved. I do understand what you mean by the inconsistent movement mine is doing the same but much worse. In fact I am unsure if it got worse after I moved to windows 10, but anyway my Z axis is always on a kamikaze mission and attacks the hotbed with some serious power.
Then if I press -0.1 it slowly moves toward the hotbed and I need to press "Emergency Stop" to end the movement, then I press the +0.1, 1, 10,50 and it continues in the same direction (toward the hotbed).
I have different but similar issues with the other axis so I suspect that I am sending garbage to the controller.

Re: Inconsistent Movement
1. Pushed the extruders to the top position and activated the end-stops
2. Turned off the printer and then turned it on again
3. Disconnected and reconnected to the printer with repetier
4. Entered the following command: G0 X0 Y50 X2 <Send>
5. The extruders moved to about the following position 52mm from the hotbed (Z) and offset about 50mm from the centre of the printer (I assume Y)
6. I select Z -10 and the printer tries to move and stops saying that (endstops hit: Z)
That means that the wiring is incorrect and that for some reason it thinks I hit the Z endstop which I haven't reached, refer to the photos below
