My Experience with the GSM/GPRS Shield

I've noticed a lot of questions and frustration regarding the GSM/GPRS shield on this forum. It's apparent that the significant language barrier between users and tech support creates a lot of misinformation. I recently bought one of these shields and was able to get it working for my purposes. I've documented my setup and observations at https://sites.google.com/site/observing ... prs-shield. Hopefully, this will clear up some of that misinformation.
I didn't go beyond making and receiving voice calls and receiving text messages because that's all I needed. For those of you who are doing GPRS, this might not address your issues. Similarly, those of you who think that the shield was assembled incorrectly might not get much satisfaction from it either. However, I did include pictures of the top and bottom of my shield, so you can at least compare yours to a working one.
