On the GT2560 used with G2s pro, what is best way to wire in an optical limit switch to detect the bed during auto bed leveling?
Where is best place to get 5v off this board?
GT2560 Optical Limit Switch for ABL
Re: GT2560 Optical Limit Switch for ABL
don't know much about the optical limit switch, but you can get the 5V from the test point near the mainchip, you can easily find it ccause there's a 5V label beside.
Re: GT2560 Optical Limit Switch for ABL
Thanks ... I was hoping to avoid soldering ... and guess I can solder on a pin. Likely will try separate 5v supply until I seem if limit switch input will work with the optical switches I got on Amazon ...
Re: GT2560 Optical Limit Switch for ABL
Today I soldered a pin on the 5v pad next to the 2 Zmin pins (would be great if they put a 3 pin connector here as the circuit board is made for it. I took off the plastic connector which lift 3 pins in a row,gr:signal:+5v, and then used a 3 pin limit switch cable I had to connect to the short cable that came with the optical limit switch.
Made angle bracket adapter and installed optical switch in place of mechanical one, put a flag on the small trip lever and removed the spring ... it's tripping fine from the weight of the rod.
Seems to be working fine. After I redo the Z offset and get is all hooked in, I'll post a few pictures.
Optical limit switch does seem to trigger more reliably and consistently.

Hi Forrest did you take some pictures?
I would be interested in this mod too.
Thank you
