If You need upload another firmware, no need new bootloader.
Use tool from Geeetech web sites.
1. download and run firmware tool
2. open custom hex file
3. check usb connection (printer is ON and usb cable is connected)
4. press and hold RST button on printer
5. release button and in the same time click on "Upgrade from local" button in the tool software. (if you do not make it, try again- since step 4)
6. wait at the and proces, read info in terminal window behind
This method is 100% working.

Reset pin dident work for me had to wire mine like this
