Setting the current level on a A4988 Driver board correctly?

Post by ConnerLawson » Tue Aug 11, 2020 3:58 pm

How do you set the proper current for the a4988 driver board. I know there is a variable resistor for adjusting the current on the board. Do you want to unplug the stepper motor connector on the GT2560 V3.0 mother board prior to setting the current level, so you won't damage your stepper motor? I also, want to know how you determine omegle xender the proper orientation of the driver assembly to plug into the mother board. I know that the 2560 board has blue and black connectors and the a4988 drivers that came with the original board are blue and black, and gives to a method of know how to plug them in. The drives I have ordered the plugs on the driver are both black. Which pin is Vcc and which pin is ground on the GT2560 mother board? I am sorry I have so many questions and so little knowledge about this subject. As always thanks.

hi :D
The current is about 1A and there is no need to unplug the stepper motor connector.
Use a multimeter the red probe lead to the screw and the black probe lead to GND.
Keep the screws on the driver away from the side close to the edge of the motherboard for installation. This might solve your problem :D
