Heat Break Problems

Post by FitzgeraldS » Tue Apr 21, 2020 4:40 am

I have the A20M printer. The hot end keeps clogging up. After several attemps and the purchase of a new 2 in 1 Hot End,
I discovered that the heat break was clogged. I took a gas torch and burned out the heatbreak, to discover what looks like a defuser.
Both my new and old hot end heatbreaks have them.1. Why is this not mentioned in any of the publication about this Printer. 2 Is this part important to the operation of the hotend? Are replacement parts available?

Please Advise, I like my printer and I want to keep it working.

Hi,the check ring cannot be removed, it can prevent the consumables from flowing backward.

Thank You for your response.
Unfortunately, the rings came out quite easily.
Is there a fix for this?
If not a fix, can I get replacement heat Breaks or do I need to keep buying new hot-ends?
Any help that you provide, will be greatly appreciated.

If the hot end is clogged, you can try to clean it first.
If it cannot be solved, you can replace it.
You can provide an email, and I will send you a video on how to clean the hot end and replace the hot end.

Dear Mr. William
Thank you, I really appreciate your help.
I will be glad to look at the video. Please send video link to the following address: pedalsock@gmail.com
However I would like to explain my situation. A little over a year ago I purchased my Geeetech A20M 3D printer. When I first received it and put it together, it worked great; my students and I love it. Approximately six month later, I developed a clogged and proceeded to remove the nozzle. In the middle of changing my nozzle, there was an electrical short, and I destroyed my controller card. I purchased a control card, and transferred the stepper motor modules to the new board. I moved one marcher at a time, placing it in the same spot on the new board. After I got everything back together, I turned it on and the hot end clogged immediately. I took the hot end part, to discover that the clog was in the heat break. I cleaned the heat break, and it clogged again. If I hand feed the hot end, filament will come out of the nozzle. When I start a print job, it clogs up.
I ordered a new two in one hot end unit. It does the same thing. I really like my printer, but I cannot get it to work. Please help me, I do not know what to do, I do not want to throw my machine away if I can get it working. I Ordered a new 2 in 1 hot end unit, on 16 April 2020. I can't wait to get it, but I am afraid that I will get the same results. I will be glad to look at the video, that you suggest. How ever, do you offer any other suggestions?

Please and thank you.
