dropped the print speed to 80 on the display (was 100), and the y and x jerk to 10 (was 20). did this at the start of a print from SD card, while the printer was warming up. have had no y layer shift since on 4 prints. seems to have solved the issue for me! Hope it helps someone else!

Thanks William, I will try that speed setting tomorrow. On this last print, I had some y shift in the first few mm (height) of printing, and then discovered the "tune" section of the A10M menu.
