Thanks William for your fast response and great suggestions. I am assuming the voltage and lubricant are fine as the front half prints without layer shifting. The bed is 160mmx160mm - only the front 50-80mm works without layer shifting. I thought it might have been due to alignment of the belts but ...

My Mecreator2 over a couple of years has printed may very wonderful prints wth very good quality but recently it gradually needed new bearings as the texture degraded so I changed the X and Y bearings.
