Re: Extruder motor pausing
One thing I thought of but am unsure about - is there a way that acceleration or kinematic settings in firmware could be causing E0 motor behavior?

Extruder motor pausing
I have an earlier model A10 with the gt2560 revB board. I have upgraded the extruder to a 3:1 geared Titan style (still bowden) - I am using the original geeetech extruder stepper in the gear drive. I have reflashed firmware to reverse extruder direction (1.1.9 marlin) and change E-steps. All is wor...

Re: Geeetech A10 firmware Marlin 1.1.9
ive only printed a board fan cover since upgrade to 1.1.9 but it was a decently long print and layers seemed fine.

Re: Geeetech A10 firmware Marlin 1.1.9
No problem - it is sometimes difficult to get simple answers that do not assume a pre-existing level of knowledge. I would definitely calibrate your extruder. I had to change my value - it was off I believe about 5%. This is enough to cause over or underextrusion depending on which direction it is o...

Re: Geeetech A10 firmware Marlin 1.1.9
i forgot to mention be sure your nozzle is hot before you advance material through during calibration. This may have been obvious, but better to mention than not. Otherwise you may get some jamming or shredding at extruder gears (unless stock firmware has min temp protection which I am not sure - in...

Re: Geeetech A10 firmware Marlin 1.1.9
Pat try leaving fan off for first layer or two then set to 100%. Once I figured out I needed to set it to 100 to get it to work (100% is actually 255 in firmware and if you go to control>temp>fan on lcd menu, you must turn knob to 255 to get fan to come on at all), parts came out better just leaving...

Re: Absolute Noob needs help fixing Benchy
Also, look up calibrating your extruder - you want to be sure youre pushing out only the material necessary - not too much or too little. Heat up hot end to print temp and use lcd menu prepare>move axis>extruder and push some filament out. Measure and mark on the cold filament coming into your extru...

Re: Strange z axis "wobbles"
The period looks pretty close to 8mm or so. The 2mm pitch 4 start z axis lead screw will give 8mm of travel per one full revolution. Could it be that it is either bent or possibly misaligned with z axis motor shaft via the coupling? This could cause binding or tightness in some places, put stresses ...

Re: Geeetech A10 firmware Marlin 1.1.9
Thank you for your firmware, Michael K. Pat, I am no firmware expert but I upgraded for the sole reason to get the part cooling fan working as controllable fan. Without changing firmware comment, fan is only 100% on or 100% off - no control in the middle. For some, this is okay and i was getting goo...
