Re: Adjusting DVR8825 Vref
The ground was attached to one of the available screws to my power supply (there were 3 screw points on it) just wanted it out of the way and did not want to hold the ground probe. It should be all right to connect to the outer case of the USB port. I do believe they share a common ground with the R...

Re: under-exrusion
Yikes! 1) Check to make sure driver board vref is at least 0.8volts. 2) In Repetier-Host Heat your nozzle and to your extrusion temperature. 3) Mark off 100mm on your filament going into your extruder mouth. 4) Go to the Print Panel and extrude 100mm of filament. Insure the filament flow freely and ...

Re: Share your ways to keep your printer/nozzle clean ?
Now I'm really interested in this "cold method" you're using. Can you elaborate how you do that please ? Hijacked this from another wiki: "The safest and most effective way to completely clear the plastic from a nozzle, taking any contaminants with it, is what I call a “cold pull”. The idea behind ...

Adjusting DVR8825 Vref
Seen a lot of posts regarding stepper motor issues. I have the DRV8825 Pololu Stepper Drivers and 42BYGHW8111Stepper Motors which come with my Acryllic I3. Initially I did not bother to adjust the drivers out of the box and printed using as is. However, one day I touched my X axis motor housing one ...

Re: Heat Bed and LCD Issues
Just replaced the Ramps 1.4 board, and that fixed every problem I had. I just opened up a brand new Geeetech RAMPS board the LCD2004 display had random characters on the screen also. Moved it back to my Acryllic I3 and LCD was fine. I have the RAMPS mounted to an old "Italian" Arduino MEGA2560 I ha...

Re: No starts printing
Best regard. After loading the new firmware and all the xyz axes, limit switches etc. It works perfect. I went to print my first 3D solid and I spend a few problems: 1) Heating the nozzle 235, and is not kept low and 221 goes up and down .... Not stable. 2) When the temperature of the nozzle 235 is...

Re: Share your ways to keep your printer/nozzle clean ?
Hi everyone ! I was wondering what is the best way to clean your printer (right after a print for example) ? Can you guys share your way to do so please ? Re: How I solved MOSFET overheating...
It's giving out a stronger odour though..... Yep, it sure puts out a chemical smell. First thing I tried printing in ABS was the extruder holder. So funny, as the first cut at it, the print let go 1/2 way through the job. By the time I came back to check on it, the nozzle was dragging the p...

Re: How I solved MOSFET overheating...
That looked to be a *HUGE* heatsink before you cut it in half. :) You could even get way with a lighter fan now. I used a peel and stick 5/8" heatsink and an old video card fan. Basically whatever was available in the junk box. System happy as a clam. I did however have heat saturation after printin...

Re: How I solved MOSFET overheating...
Go to the "For people who wants STL files of parts " thread and print the RAMPS cooling fan STL file. It's a nice elegant solution to holding a 40mm fan in place right over the MOSFETS.
