Yes it is, over time the belt will saw thru the metal bearing holder.Slight rubbing is not a big deal.

On the plastic connector you will see a window on each wire, there is a plastic tab, lift slightly and you can remove the wire pins and reorder them as needed, or you can take a razor blade and trim the connector, I suggest removing the pins.
